NEW DELHI: BJP and Congress chiefs Sunday sparred over PM Narendra Modi’s ‘naraaz fufa’ (disgruntled uncle) jibe at opponents and critics, with Mallikarjun Kharge questioning the PM’s use of such labels and Nitin Nabin responding that his counterpart’s criticism was yet another confirmation of his party’s negative mindset. In a post on X in Hindi, Kharge said, “Modi ji’s modus operandi is to suppress questions in a democracy and give the opposition a new adjective every year so that his own failures remain hidden! Naraaz fufa, dimagi Naxal, urban Naxal, Khan Market gang, andolan-jeevi, parjeevi…” The adjectives for the opposition may keep changing, but Modi govt’s “anti-people policies” do not change, Kharge added.
