Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has started the online registration process for recruitment to executive positions through a Computer Based Test (CBT).Eligible Indian candidates can apply online through the IndianOil website. The last date to submit the application is September 3, 2026, till 5 pm. The Computer Based Test is scheduled to be held on September 24, 2026. The admit card is expected to be issued on September 15.The recruitment covers posts including Graduate Engineer, Diploma Engineer, Officer (Marketing), Law Officer and Assistant Quality Control Officer in different grades.

IOCL recruitment 2026: Posts and eligibility

For the Graduate Engineer in Grade A posts, candidates need a full-time regular Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech), Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or equivalent degree in the relevant engineering discipline. Candidates from General, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer) categories need at least 65% marks, while Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) candidates need at least 55% marks.For Officer (Marketing) in Grade A, candidates need a two-year full-time regular Masters in Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration with specialisation in Marketing Management. The minimum marks requirement is 60% for General, EWS and OBC (NCL) candidates and 55% for SC, ST and PwBD candidates.For Law Officer in Grade A, candidates need either a graduation degree along with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree or a five-year integrated LLB degree. The minimum required marks are 60% for General, EWS and OBC (NCL) candidates and 55% for SC, ST and PwBD candidates. The LLB degree must be recognised by the Bar Council of India.For Assistant Quality Control Officer in Grade A0, candidates need a Master’s degree in Chemistry or eligible Chemistry-related disciplines. The minimum marks requirement is 60% for General, EWS and OBC (NCL) candidates and 55% for SC, ST and PwBD candidates.For Diploma Engineer in Grade E0, candidates can apply for disciplines including Electrical, Mechanical and Safety, subject to the prescribed diploma and marks requirements. For Electrical and Mechanical, candidates need a three-year engineering diploma with 65% marks for General, EWS and OBC (NCL) candidates and 55% for SC, ST and PwBD candidates.

Age limit

The upper age limit for General and EWS candidates is:

The age will be calculated as on July 1, 2026. Age relaxation is available to eligible reserved categories and other candidates as per the rules mentioned in the notification.Candidates applying for Law Officer posts must have at least two years of post-qualification professional experience as on June 30, 2026. For Assistant Quality Control Officer, two years of relevant post-qualification experience is also required in the areas specified by IndianOil.

Application fee

Candidates belonging to the SC, ST and PwBD categories are exempted from the application fee.Candidates from other categories have to pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs 1,000 plus applicable GST. Bank or payment gateway charges, if any, will also have to be paid by the candidate.

IOCL recruitment 2026: Selection process

The selection process will have three stages:

  1. Computer Based Test
  2. Group Discussion and Group Task
  3. Personal Interview

The CBT will have 100 multiple-choice questions. It will include 50 questions on general aptitude and 50 questions on domain knowledge. The general aptitude section will cover quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning and verbal ability in English.Each question will carry one mark, while 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.For General, EWS and OBC (NCL) candidates, the qualifying requirement is 40% in each section and 45% overall. For SC and ST candidates, it is 35% in each section and 40% overall. For PwBD candidates, it is 25% in each section and 30% overall.However, simply qualifying in the CBT will not guarantee a call for the next stage. Candidates will be shortlisted for Group Discussion, Group Task and Personal Interview based on their CBT marks and merit.In the final merit list, the CBT will carry 85% weightage, Group Discussion and Group Task 5%, and Personal Interview 10%.
