NEW DELHI: With India looking to ramp up its development assistance to Palestine, both sides Wednesday announced signing of an MoU for construction of a 200-bed Indian Super-Speciality Hospital in Palestine which will include modern medical facilities and a trauma centre. The Palestine ambassador to India, Abdullah Abu Shawesh, Wednesday also backed India’s bid for a non-permanent UNSC membership for 2028-29.“When we used to talk about the reform of UN at large and Security Council in particular, one of our appeals as a Southern country was to have India at least be one of the countries to have a permanent seat on the Council,” said Shawesh, addressing reporters here.Among key takeaways from the visit to Palestine by MEA secretary Sripriya Ranganathan was the signing of an MoU to establish a technical and vocational education and training centre within Palestinian National Printing Press, providing training in the printing sector. tnn
